In this first installment of the Wiley Randolph Series we meet Wiley and the crew of the USS Whisper, a top secret naval warship that has been outfitted with a "phase shifter". The phase shifter is an experimental tool that can move an object just a few seconds out of sync with time in order to make it invisible. While testing the ability to launch a missile through the shifter, they move not just a few seconds but a few hundred years. Wiley and the crew have to not only stay alive while in the middle of a war but they are forced to decide how to best protect the world from technology that could change world history as we know it.
