Alexander Hawk is an 8 year old juvenile delinquent that is recruited by a secret government agency to participate in an army that is traveling to space. His above average scores in strategic thinking allow him to lead a team of adolescents that are planning to take on an alien species by the time they arrive in the far away galaxy. Hawk and his team are called into real battle much sooner than expected and it not everyone will survive.
